Amber Care Recruitment Agency in conjunction with our client is on the look out for a skilled surveyor seeking a fulfilling role.

 

You are invited to join the Disrepair Team within our clients team, reporting to a supportive Disrepair Manager. You will be at the forefront of managing diverse disrepair cases across a varied housing stock.

​

Our client are looking for the ideal candidate, someone professionally qualified (RICS) or possessing extensive proven experience in the field. If you have a deep understanding of various builds and the associated challenges, coupled with experience of dealing with social housing residents and a track record in surveying different types of housing stock, we want to hear from you.

​

As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for surveying properties, producing comprehensive reports, and ensuring compliance with Building Standards and legal requirements. Knowledge of contract legislation, including The Housing Conditions Protocol and the Fitness for Human Habitation Act, is essential. Travel is a key component of this role, and a full license with access to a car is mandatory.

Working in close collaboration with our in-house legal team, you will contribute to resolving cases efficiently. This role requires the preparation of witness statements, proof of evidence, and court attendance as necessary.

​

Your role will encompass a variety of skills, including building and property surveying, project management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and budget management skills are crucial, as is the ability to be self-motivated and prioritize tasks effectively. 

 

You will help ensure repairs works are completed to specified quality standards, with responsibility for pre inspection of timescales and budgetary requirements, using pre inspections , specification of works and SOR's along with regular communication between contractor and tenant to provide a first class service. Experience in diagnosis of damp and mould would be beneficial

As a Disrepair Surveyor, you will possess exceptional customer service skills, playing a vital role in addressing repair issues and providing solutions to our residents.

 

You'll need to be adept at empathetic communication, particularly with vulnerable residents who have escalated maintenance cases to the Disrepair Team.

Requirements:

•Experience managing legal disrepair cases, surveying properties, producing comprehensive reports, and ensuring compliance with Building Standards and legal requirements

•Ideally have a surveying qualification (not essential)

•Professionally qualified (RICS) - (Nice to have - not essential)

•Good understanding of damp and structural issues

•Social housing experience (not essential)

•Full UK licence (Mandatory)

•Knowledge of contract legislation, including The Housing Conditions Protocol and the Fitness for Human Habitation Act (Essential).
